MAJIC’s History and Our Plan: click for blog

She was built in Tonawanda, NY, on Lake Erie and she’s been renovated by Cayuga Wooden Boatworks in the northern end of Lake Cayuga in the Fingerlakes.   We need to bring her through 25 locks on the Seneca River, the Erie Canal, and the Mohawk River to the Hudson River—-and then down to New York Harbor and out the East River into Long Island Sound and around Rhode Island into Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound.   That will take at least eight days.

Our skipper is the very experienced Captain Robin Robinson, who has skippered 27 trips from the Vineyard through the inland waterway to Florida.  But this will be her first venture on the Erie Canal locks.

  1. So glad you and MAJIC are finally up close and personal! I hope she lives up to all your expectations. She is certainly gorgeous and very distinctive — she will turn heds as you go by. ENJOY! Lots of love, Charlotte
